2013 $1 Polar Animals Series coloured coin - Rockhopper Penguin

One of the first coin releases in this series features the Rockhopper Penguin, one of the world’s smallest penguins and which are easily identifiable by their blood-red eyes, red orange beak and pink webbed feet.

They are a friendly and sociable species and can be seen in groups known as colonies.
