COMING SOON — 2026 Our Animals, Our Country $2 Silver Proof Coin

Discover Jurrgubadi, the goanna, through a coin celebrating language, Country and storytelling.

The Royal Australian Mint’s 2026 Our Animals, Our Country $2 Silver Proof Coin features Jurrgubadi (goanna), an animal valued as a food source and protected through kinship relationships.

Featuring artwork by Gudanji/Wakaja and Kalkadoon artist Ryhia Dank, also known as nardurna, this release honours the Gudanji/Wakaja languages and the Aboriginal storytelling traditions of the Northern Territory’s Barkly Tablelands and Gulf Country.

Ryhia is also an Ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, which supports literacy in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia.

Struck in silver with a proof finish and a limited mintage of 5,000, this coin brings together Australian wildlife, contemporary Aboriginal art and the sharing of living languages.
