COMING SOON — 2026 Our Animals, Our Country $1 Collection Folder and Five-Coin Set

Five Australian animals, a connection to Country – plus a 1 in 10 chance to find a special coloured coin!

Discover the 2026 Our Animals, Our Country $1 Collection Folder and Five-Coin Set from the Royal Australian Mint. Featuring five uncirculated $1 coins, this collection celebrates the Gudanji/Wakaja peoples’ languages, storytelling traditions and connections to Country.

Australia is home to more than 250 Aboriginal languages. Through animal names and artwork, this collection invites collectors to explore stories connected to the hills, plains and waterways of the Northern Territory’s Gulf Country and Barkly Tablelands.

The designs feature artwork by Gudanji/Wakaja and Kalkadoon artist Ryhia Dank, also known as nardurna. Her creative practice draws on family, memories and her relationship with Country. Ryhia is also an Ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, which supports remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia.

Presented together in a collection folder, the five coins introduce:

• Marraji — Red Kangaroo: MAH-rah-jee
• Jagurrugurru — Emu: jah-goo-roo-goo-roo
• Mardumbarrayi — Saltwater Crocodile: mar-dum-bar-RYE
• Darrmanji — Brolga: DAR-man-jee
• Gulamandarrina — Long-necked Turtle: goo-lah-mun-dah-REE-nah

There is also a 1 in 10 chance of finding a special coloured Mardumbarrayi — Saltwater Crocodile coin, adding an element of surprise to this wildlife collection.
