The Dragon symbolizes power, honor, good luck and success in traditional Chinese culture, and those born under this sign are said to be noble, ambitious and gifted.
The dragon dance is a traditional element of Chinese New Year celebrations.
Previous Dragon years include 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964 and 1952.
Issued as Australian legal tender, the uncirculated cupro nickel coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin's reverse and obverse designs.
The coin's reverse portrays a dragon with water cascading from its mouth, stylized waves, and a flaming pearl, a symbol of wisdom.
The coin obverse bears the Jody Clark Memorial Obverse of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II memorial supplemented by the dates of her reign '1952-2022', the 2024 year-date and the monetary denomination.
Fixed to the envelope is an official Australia Post $3.60 Christmas Island stamp which is post marked First Day of Issue and the envelope includes Australia Post's Seal of Authenticity.
