2010 Four Coin Privy Mark Set 100 Years of Coinage
Contains two very scarce mintmarked $1 coins.
2010 marked the centenary of Australia's national coinage - the first coins that were truly Australian were issued in 1910, nine years after Federation.
These new coins heralded the unity and budding independence of our young nation.
The reverse of the 2010 commemorative $1 coins features effigies of the following monarchs, from left to right:
- Queen Elizabeth II,
- King George VI,
- King George V, and
- King Edward VII.
The mintmarked coins in this set are quite scarce - the H and D $1 coins are the first to be counterstamped with those letters.
Each Coin:
- Obverse: Elizabeth II to right, legend around
- Reverse: Images of the four right facing English monarchs that have appeared on Australian Pre-Decimal coinage. From left to right, Queen Elizabeth II, George VI, George V, and Edward VII
