1986 Royal Australian Mint Year of Peace 7 coin Proof Set - no outer box
The first proof year set with a commemorative $1 coin.
Australia has been producing proof year sets ever since decimal currency was introduced in 1966.
Coin collecting was in a boom period in the early 1980's, proof sets were particularly popular.
Proof coins are the same as those we see in our change, but are struck with specially prepared machinery on specially prepared blanks - the designs always stand out magnificently.
The Australian one dollar coin was introduced to the general public in 1984, and the International Year of Peace one dollar is the very first commemorative dollar issued by Australia.
The coins in this set are in perfect condition, packaging is worn. It comes with the original certificate. NO OUTER BOX
